Beginner Gundog Training Classes

Beginner Gundog Training Classes are suitable for dogs aged 6 months upwards. Beginner Class is for dogs who have not undertaken any gundog training previously. WE will focus more on obedience training and the basic skills that are needed as part of regular gundog work, but whilst providing your dog with a chance to have plenty of fun doing what he loves.

Novice Pet Gundog Training Classes

Novice Pet Gundog Training Classes are suitable for dogs who have a good level of obedience, including a reliable recall. They are not just for dogs who want to train as working gundogs, but also for dogs whose owners want to develop the natural talents of their pet gundog. In this class we focus on the specific skills that your dog will need to use in regular gundog work. We build on what you both have already learned in the Beginner Gundog Course.

Most owners that come to our dog training classes do not want to work or compete with their gundog; they simply want to have some fun, teaching their dog good manners and building a bond. They want to enjoy taking their dog out for walks without feeling stressed and frustrated. Not getting pulled down the road or suffering the embarrassment in front of other dog owners when their dog completely ignores their shouting.

Our dog training classes have a maximum of 6 dogs per group to ensure that you and your dog receive enough attention and focus during the class.

Our dog training classes cover:

• good manners and being calm when there are distractions
• walking to heel teaching your dog not to pull on a loose lead
• recall work in getting your dog to come back to you when called
• being comfortable around other dogs
• not jumping up, barking or biting when he gets too excited
• steadiness when sitting down around distractions
• marking, hunting with his nose and retrieving
• stop whistle
• recall whistle
• hunt whistle
• handling at a distance with the whistle and hand signals
• delivery to hand

We use positive reinforcement dog training methods to train dogs and use a training ground which is located in beautiful countryside.
