Our 6-week Junior Improver Course is the second half of our Junior Gundog programme.
The Improver Course is suitable for dogs who have successfully completed the Junior Foundation Courses, or can reliably perform the skills covered in that course.
If you haven’t trained with us before but think your dog can demonstrate all of these skills (in an environment like a training field and with other dogs present), please submit a registration form, and we’ll be in touch to discuss this further. Select ‘Something More Advanced’ option on the form.
This course culminates in the final week with a scored Junior Gundog Fieldwork Test.
We will assess you and your dog versus specific criteria designed for their natural breed characteristics. There is a separate Fieldwork Test for Retrievers, Spaniels and HPR breeds*.
You are not in competition with other dogs. You and your dog just need to demonstrate the criteria to progress to the next level with either a Pass, Merit or Distinction based on your overall score. On passing the Junior Gundog Fieldwork Test you will receive a certificate, exclusive gold colour-coded lanyard & rosette.
You will be assessed and scored in the following areas:

During your course you will receive membership to our online Gundog Training Academy.
Every exercise we cover in class comes with an easy-to-follow video demonstration, so you always know exactly what to work on at home.
You’ll also have 7-day-a-week access to individual coaching and guidance from Mark Taylor, accredited Gundog Club Instructor.
